Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

An alert is details of an incident that you send to us. You may include live photos and videos of the event. Anybody who has registered to be notified of events happening in the area from which the incident happened will be sent a notification of the incident.

What is a notification? A notification is a message informing users that an incident has occurred. The notification/message is sent to the phones of those who have registered to receive notice of any events that occur in a particular area or country..

The incident is sent to every user who has subscribed to receive security alerts in that particular area. For instance, if someone posts an amber alert (missing child) incident, a notification of that incident will be sent to everyone who has requested to receive alerts in that area. Users who have subscribed to the alerts can mute the notifications or modify their areas of concern, anytime.

Emergency contacts: during registration, every user may add up to 3 phone numbers of their friends/family/next-of-kin. These people will be notified of any alert that the user sends. This is a very important way of immediately informing your next-of-kin that you are in some danger or difficulty. The app will also send them your exact location.

This app was designed primarily for West Africa and other similar areas where there is no functional official emergency response system. However, anyone anywhere in the world is free to use it. Only those who have subscribed to receiving alerts will receive the alerts. Subscribers can mute their notifications or delete their accounts anytime..
